The Specialists team, started in 2002 year by Morfeo and John_Matrix’s direction created a mod for the great, famous and best-seller Half-Life, in which there are two primary objectives for the team to reach: Action movies’ gameplay style but also credible realism, both for guns and their damages.
Firefights, depending from the various gameplays that will be listed, will be both spectacular due to our “stunt” moves as well as spectacular for a new implemented particellar system, new muzzle flashes and weapons’ realistic power. Players can shot down an enemy just with a burst of 9mm as well as a single shotgun shot.
Users will be able to choose if behave as an “action man” (use of light equipment, small caliber guns) taking advantage of their agility or behave as a “specialist” using large caliber weapons, which affect agility but improve firepower. It’s also possible to close any encounter with an headshot, which is, almost in all cases, lethal… But now don’t stay here, take a look to all “The Specialists” (TS from now on) new features!
All the weapons respects (as much as in our knowledge) real weight, dimensions, rate of fire, spare accessories (silencers, flashlights, lasersights scopes and so on, that can be mounted apart over handled weapons, giving you more options to suppress enemies and better accuracy).
This undermeans that handling great caliber guns like the assault rifles will give a tremendous firepower to their handler, but also less agility, since their greater weight.
Either it’s possible to perform rolls, airwheels and dives of different lenght, with a very simple and functional system, that allows gamers to use these special moves without any sort of problem. We call them “Stunts”: with these moves it’s possible to avoid incoming enemy fire, do surprise attacks or simply live spectacular fights.
There is an option of melee combat, with kicks, punchs and other martial arts moves, just press “jump” key in vicinity of an enemy player to kick or punch.
All the modification is client side coded, this means no lag for bullets fire and great quality of weapons and players’ models, animations and skins. We must also really thank Holy Wars mod team that gave us the L.o.d. technique (Level of detail).
TS also modifies muzzle flashes, sprites, skins and implements a totally new and very good looking particellar system, that improves game experience. Great accuracy is also applied to bullet ballistics and perforation: great caliber guns and wall piercing bullets are here simulated.

The Specialists is thankfully nothing to do with the notably poor Sharon Stone/Sylvester Stallone film. Instead, this Half-Life mod turns Valve’s seminal FPS into an action pacted, trick-filled deathmatch. Initial impressions from this first version are good.
The weapons are phenomenal and there’s a bigger arsenal on offer than Saddam has hiddin in his basement, with seven pistols, six sub machine guns and plenty of shotguns and rifles to play with. THe maps are excellent too, based around films settings like Face Off’s church and The Matrix’s lobby. New combat moves such as rolling and going prone aren’t quite perfected yet, but they still add a new element to the standard deathmatch antics and make this mode well worth checking out if you like a bit of deathmath.
The Specialists for Half-Life is one of the most impressive mods we’ve seen in years. Gorgeous textures. Gun models and animation that puts many major releases to shame, and even special Matrix-style moves.
